Dr. Charles Peri, a Marin County native, discovered Chinese medicine through his lifelong practice of martial arts. While training for his black belt, he was inspired by teachers who emphasized healing over breaking boards—many of them acupuncturists and herbal doctors. That spark led him on a path of deep study, beginning in the late 1970s with a four-year apprenticeship under Dr. Robert Kong, a fourth-generation acupuncturist and herbalist from China.

With more than 20 years of professional experience, Dr. Peri is known for blending expertise with genuine compassion. He founded Novato Acupuncture to help patients restore balance, relieve pain, and achieve lasting wellness through personalized, holistic care.

To study traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) at the highest level, Dr. Peri went far beyond the basics. He even learned Mandarin so he could better study under top Chinese doctors. He later earned his Master of Science degree from the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences in Oakland, California.
